We picked up my parents at the Christchurch airport on Monday morning after a long flight from San Francisco. We were originally planning on staying in Christchurch for a few days, but the city was still mostly closed with residents and property owners just being allowed to go into some parts of the CBD after two weeks. Before leaving the west coast we went on a “underworld rafting” tour in the Paparoa National Park near the town of Westport. We got to see some great cave formations, glow worm lit grotto’s, and tube down the Nile River (not the one in Africa).
